Katie Nees

Treasurer

Katie and her husband, Bob have been Silverthorne residents for the past 17 years. As a child, Katie learned about horses from her grandfather, who also served in WWI leading a team of horses delivering supplies to the front lines. Katie continued her interest in horses in English riding and competing in local hunter-jumper competitions. As an active volunteer for SVHC, Katie has enjoyed working with our foster horses to find them a forever home!

With an MBA in finance and over 35 years as a licensed civil engineer and serving as senior vice-president in both global and national engineering firms, Katie brings a vast amount of experience in finance/accounting, civil design, construction and contract law. Katie has also served on numerous national and statewide boards and brings her experience and best practices to SVHC. Katie enjoys spending time hiking the Summit County trails with her husband, their two sons and wives and their wonderful Labrador, Amber; working with the horses and the young the children that come to the ranch each year to learn and to be with the horses.
