Programs Overview

NOTICE: Blue River Horse Center is in compliance with all Summit County Public Health "Business Social Distancing Protocol" regulations.

Horses = Fun + Learning!

Blue River Horse Center Offers Several Membership Participation Opportunities:

  • Individual and Family volunteer staff memberships;  For the six month summer season working with experienced volunteers in re-training our rescued horses.  Our herd includes mini horses that children enjoy working with and full sized horses.  Becoming a volunteer can be with a donation to BRHC or subsidized by a scholarship.

  • Participation with other service groups such as SOS Outreach, Mountain Mentors, Boy and Girls Scouts, etc.:  These groups can become volunteer staff members for the summer and help with horse training and maintenance of the ranch by performing ranch maintenance and improvement work.

  • Partnering Businesses:  Local businesses can become supporting members and have members of their staff volunteer with us and derive the personal experiential emotional awareness growth and leadership skill growth derived from learning how to train horses that will then translate over into their own businesses.

BRHC Membership Program

For an annual one-time or monthly contribution, staff membership provides unlimited training sessions from May to October, expanding your skills by working with our seasoned horse handlers.  Riding lessons are also available as part of your final horse training skills development.
